Program GADING ini sudah berjalan lebih dari satu tahun dan mulai dirasakan manfaatnya termasuk warga yang ada di dusun Sentul Asli.
Monitoring dilakukan untuk memastikan budidaya lemna berjalan dengan baik. Tanaman lemna, sejauh ini sudah disosialisasikan bahkan sudah mulai dipraktikkan oleh warga sebagai pakan alternatif untuk ternak, terutama ikan. Dijadikan pakan karena tanaman ini kaya akan protein.
Tanaman ini dijadikan pakan alternatif pengganti pelet ikan. Masyarakat yang ada di dusun ini sangat menaruh harapan terhadap program ini. Antusias warga terlihat dari kolam-kolam ikan yang dibuat di samping halaman rumahnya, ada juga yang dibuat di sawah. Sudah tiga bulan lebih ikan air tawar berbagai jenis dibudidayakan.
Budidaya ikan mejadi kegiatan baru yang dilakukan warga yang mayoritas sebagai petani dan peternak sapi, sebelumnya tidak pernah mengenal kegiatan budidaya air tawar. Semua usaha pembuatan kolam dan budidaya ikan air tawar merupakan inisiatif warga yang didukung oleh Hivos-YRE dalam program GADING tersebut. Ketertarikan warga dalam mengusahakan usaha baru yaitu budidaya ikan di karenakan adanya sumber pakan lokal yang melimpah yaitu duckweed.
Melihat banyaknya warga yang membudidayakan lemna atau duckweed, Hivos-YRE berupaya mendatangkan tim alhi. Tim ahli yang datang mencoba memberikan pengetahuan tentang bagaimana cara budidaya lemna yang tepat. Budidaya lemna tidak hanya menunggu perkembangbiakannya saja, setelah itu diberikan ke ikan, akan tetapi lebih dari itu. Lemna sendiri sama dengan tanaman pada umumnya sangat memerlukan teknik budidaya yang sesuai agar perkembangannya lebih baik.
